| The Canlive Charitable Trust
was set up to assist people with cancer in The Central Otago Region,
learn self help methods using The Gawler Philosophy.
In 1975 Ian Gawler had terminal bone cancer. He made a remarkable
recovery and still lives today by using meditation, organic food,
positive thinking and loving support. www.gawler.org
In 2009 The Canlive Trust ran 3 x 8 day residential programmes for people with active cancer and their support people. These programmes are endorsed by The Gawler Foundation in Australia. A number of local people were able to attend these programmes thanks to the generous financial support of this competition.
In 2010 the trust will run 3 residential programmes and a follow up course for people that have already attended the programme.
